Inpatient Behavioral Health Services
Carney Hospital’s mission is to provide comfortable quality care to individuals in need of an inpatient psychiatric setting. The inpatient program offers a secure 20-bed adult unit for short-term crisis intervention, 14-bed adolescent unit and 16-bed geriatric program serving older adults. Operating under a multidisciplinary team approach, the focus of patient treatment is on:

  • Diagnostic assessment
  • Reduction of acute symptoms
  • Development of an aftercare plan

Outpatient Behavioral Health Services
Outpatient behavioral health services at Carney Hospital include medication management, and individual, couples, group, and family counseling. Carney also operates a Clozapine Clinic, which addresses the needs of a specialty group of seriously and persistently mentally ill patients. The clinic provides:

  • Psychopharmacological treatment
  • Rehabilitation group therapy
  • Family supportive therapy
  • Case management
  • Laboratory tests
  • Medication management

Carney Hospital’s Behavioral Health Patient and Family Advisory Council (BHPFAC) is the voice of patients and family members in the community who are interested in coming together to provide our health care team with constructive advice and feedback to improve our patients’ experiences.
