Carney is committed to caring for the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. The staff of interdenominational and certified chaplains are available to assist you in drawing upon and deepening your emotional, spiritual and religious resources as you cope with your illness or crisis. Through spiritual support, counseling, and prayer, we minister to patients, families and staff to bring comfort, to ease fears, and to offer spiritual companionship in times of stress.
If you would like a visit from a chaplain, spiritual care counselor, or a representative of your own faith community, please ask the nurse to contact the spiritual care office.
Communion is available to Roman Catholic patients daily. Eucharistic ministers bring communion after 1 p.m. or in the evening at 7 p.m. Communion for patients of other denominations may be obtained upon request.
Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)
To receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, please ask your nurse to contact the spiritual care office to request a visit from the priest chaplain.
Sacrament of the Sick
The Sacrament of the Sick, or anointing of the sick, is available to any Catholic patient in time of illness. To receive the anointing of the sick, please ask the nurse to contact the spiritual care office.
