Carney Hospital Welcomes New Hospital President

Tom Sands, MBA, MHA, FACHE Chosen to Lead Hospital

 

DORCHESTER, MA -- Carney Hospital has announced Tom Sands, MBA, MHA, FACHE as the new President of the Dorchester-based hospital. Formerly the interim president at Carney, Sands has been officially appointed President effective July 2018.

An accomplished health care executive, Sands brings a wealth of direct experience from several sectors of today’s health care industry to his post as president of Carney. Sands is a respected and accomplished leader within the Steward organization, previously serving as the Senior Vice President of Operations, Northeast Division for Steward Health Care.

Prior to joining the Steward network, Sands held executive operational and service roles for Navicent Health; overseeing development and leadership of customer services, diagnostic and therapeutic services, hospitality and support services and operations.

The announcement follows a recent national expansion of the Steward system and patient care model to encompass 38 community hospital campuses in the United States and Malta.
