Carney Hospital Names Hue T. Pham To Hospital Board

Experienced non-profit executive brings vital community development background to hospital board of directors
 
Dorchester, MA – March 21, 2016 – Carney Hospital today announced the appointment of Hue T. Pham, executive director of the Vietnamese American Initiative for Development (VietAid), to the hospital’s board of directors.  
 
“I am excited to welcome Hue Pham to the hospital’s board of directors,” said Carney Hospital president, Walter J. Ramos.  “Hue brings valuable experience in local economic development and community programs to our board, and she has a vital perspective on issues affecting the Fields Corner neighborhood and especially the Vietnamese community living in Dorchester.”
 
“Carney Hospital and VietAid have a shared goal of community service to the communities of Dorchester,” said Hue Pham.  “It is an honor for me to work with Walter Ramos and the hospital’s leadership.”  “Carney Hospital is a very important local provider of quality care to Dorchester, the City of Quincy and the surrounding communities,” continued Pham.  
 
An experienced non-profit leader with a passion for service and community impact, Pham recently joined VietAID from the University of St. Thomas Center for Academics and Sports in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she led youth education programs.  Pham’s professional background also includes building community coalitions to advance economic development initiatives at the Metropolitan Council of St. Paul and providing management consultancy to nonprofits in Minneapolis-St Paul.  Internationally, as the country representative for the Vietnamese/Thailand program of the Children’s Home Society of Minnesota, she developed and managed innovative child welfare adoption services.  In addition, Pham held management and executive positions for Fortune 500 companies, including AT&T and IBM.  
 
As the executive director of VietAID, Pham leads a multi-faceted community development corporation that provides services ranging from early childhood education programs, small business assistance, first time home buyer education and affordable housing development, among many other services.
