CarneyPatient and Visitor Information

Preparing for Your Stay

Admission requests are made in advance by your doctor with the exception of emergency admissions. This will allow you some time to prepare for your hospitalization. This guide will give you an idea of how to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.

What to Bring

Since you won't be needing many things during your stay, bring as little as possible with you.

  • Medication list
  • Health Care Proxy
  • Health insurance identification
  • Bathrobe
  • Pajama or nightgown
  • Slippers
  • Stationery and reading materials

Toothpaste, a toothbrush, deodorant, powder and soap will be provided by the hospital.

What to Leave Home

You must leave valuables, especially jewelry, money, clothing and personal items, at home as the hospital will not accept liability for loss. If you have any other essential personal items such as dentures or eyeglasses, be sure to inform us about them when you are admitted. We highly recommend that these items be clearly marked with your first and last name. For safety reasons, electrical appliances, such as radios, televisions, irons or fans, should be left at home. The use of cellular phones and similar devices is prohibited in highly instrumented clinical areas. If medication is required during your stay, your physician will prescribe it. Please do not bring any medications from home unless you have your physician's consent to do so.

When You Arrive

Parking facilities are located in the front lot of the hospital and in the garage to the rear of the building. Handicap parking is available in both locations. Visitors will be charged for parking except for the day of discharge. No cars may be left overnight in either parking area without permission from the security department.
